dunlop / woods valve Empty dunlop / woods valve

    Post  dknapp1 Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:20 pm

Looks like finding a Dunlop valve is going to be harder than I thought.

Is there any way to get a better picture of the valve in the tutorial? If I need to get that exact valve, I'm going to need a better picture or a supplier. It looks like there is one valve for sale on ebay, in the UK, but it doesn't really look like the valve in the tutorial.

Any thoughts about how to get one in America, or an American supplier, or a suitable replacement valve would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like the one, but was you local bike store not able to get them in?

I've updated the Box tutorial with a couple more images of the valve.

I went to what I would call the high end bike store last Saturday - they looked it up in their distributor database and couldn't get one ordered - I do live in the middle of nowhere, and there are a couple of bike shops at the biggest city that I can call and see. They did have Presta but not dunlap/woods.

    Any luck with ebay?

At some point I'm definitely going to have to see if other valves can be adapted to work.
Schraeder might, if you take the spring out...

Thanks for the reminder - I just ordered 4 valves from the UK from the link above - will probably take 7-10 days to get here.

I did try another cycle place in the bigger city, but they didn't have them and couldn't order them either.

So, hopefully ebay will save the day.

    Thanks!
